Domestic Violence Intervention

Counseling Session Discussion

The Domestic Violence Prevention Session at Breaking Barriers Therapeutic Center is designed to educate, empower, and support individuals in recognizing the signs of unhealthy and abusive relationships while promoting safety, respect, and healthy communication. This evidence-informed session provides participants with practical strategies to identify the warning signs of domestic violence, understand the cycle of abuse, and develop skills to establish and maintain healthy boundaries.

Participants will learn about the different forms of domestic violence, including physical, emotional, verbal, psychological, sexual, financial, and digital abuse. The session also explores the impact of domestic violence on individuals, children, families, and communities while emphasizing the importance of prevention, early intervention, and available community resources.

Whether you are seeking personal education, supporting a loved one, or fulfilling a court-ordered or agency referral, this session offers a confidential, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where participants can gain knowledge, build confidence, and develop a personalized safety plan when appropriate. Our goal is to promote awareness, encourage healthy relationships, and empower individuals to make informed decisions that foster long-term safety and well-being.
